You are the bread and the knife,
The crystal goblet and the wine
--Jacques Crickillon
You are the bread and the knife,
the crystal goblet and the wine.
You are the dew on the morning grass
and the burning wheel of the sun.
You are the white apron of the baker
and the marsh birds suddenly in light.
However, you are not the wind in the orchard,
the plums on the counter,
or the house of cards.
And you are certainly not the pine-scented air.
There is just no way you are the pine-scented air.
It is possible that you are the fish under the bridge,
maybe even the pigeon on the general's head,
but you are not even close
to being the field of cornflowers at dusk.
And a quick look in the mirror will show
that you are neither the boots in the corner
nor the boat asleep in its boathouse.
It might interest you to know,
speaking of the plentiful imagery of the world,
that I am the sound of rain on the roof.
I also happen to be the shooting star,
the evening paper blowing down the alley,
and the basket of chestnuts on the kitchen table.
I am also the moon in the trees
and the blind woman's tea cup.
But don't worry, I am not the bread and the knife.
You are still the bread and the knife.
You will always be the bread and the knife,
not to mention the crystal goblet andsomehow
the wine.
"Sonnet CXXX: My Mistress' Eyes are Nothing like the Sun"
by William Shakespeare
My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips' red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damasked, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
I grant I never saw a goddess go;
My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground.
And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
As any she belied with false compare.

I DID MY HOMEWORK! Unbelievable!
I've broken my habit... for at least, today.
Finally we've started the poems unit in english. Go poems! yay.
I am also fully attached to a book called Night Watch at the moment too. It was written by some guy from Kazakhstan. The story however, is about vampires in Moscow, Russia. Not sure how that ties together, but somehow it does. It's an awesome story. But, yes, this means I've finished my other book: The Bartemaeus trilogy, The Golem's Eye. Many thanks to Tamime and Karen! I love you guys. Books are truly great gifts. I've come to realize that. I wish I did sooner though. I used to hate reading in elementary. It wasn't until Middle school that things changed.
I've been coughing at random times for no reason recently. Not sure why. It happens after I take a deep breath or run. I start retching and feeling weird in my throat. I haven't been sick though. I certainly hope I'm not sick now. Hmmm...
Ah. The MUN conference on saturday seemed so long ago already. I did terrible... 'nuff said.
Time goes awfully slow in my world oddly enough. Why won't time go any faster? It's only been weeks since my birthday, yet it felt like months ago (but I have the books to help me measure the passage of time and they fill up the rest of the time I have left until schools out).
I can't wait for the days to pass. I like my life, but honestly, it gets so boring. If only I could warp into another world and do something exciting like saving the universe from destruction with my crazy brain powers and muscular----no. That's something too similar to what Christine Noh would say, so I'm not too sure...
Well. It's obvious that this years InWords Group A anime dubbing was a complete failure. We have been immobile for a long while now. I doubt that we'll have it next year.
speaking of which: next year... *BIG sigh*. Dang 10th grade. I might still be able to go to a private school instead and leave Cerritos high, If I can.
Devious Comments
Anywho, I was just wondering what you meant by that last statement of yours... a private school?! TT_TT
